Fitting the Rubber Seal Gasket to Cement Mixers

Fitting the rubber seal gasket to your cement mixer can be a bit of a challenge, especially if you're working alone. It often feels like you need an extra pair of hands to get everything aligned perfectly. While having a second person to assist you is ideal, we’ve outlined a step-by-step process to help you successfully fit the gasket even if you're on your own.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Position the Seal: Start by placing the rubber seal loosely inside the bottom half of the drum. (see image 1)

2. Align the Drums: Next, take a moment to line up the arrow on the top drum with the corresponding mark on the bottom drum. (see image 2)

3. Check Hole Alignment: Before proceeding, ensure that the holes on both the top and bottom drums are roughly aligned. This will make it easier to insert the bolts later on.

4. Prepare the Bolt and Nut: Have one bolt and nut ready for use. This will be your starting point for securing the seal.

5. Lift the Top Drum: Carefully lift the top drum and gently pull a section of the rubber seal towards the edge. (see image 5)

6. Insert the Bolt: Pass the bolt through the top drum, the rubber seal, and then through the lower drum.

7. Loosely Attach the Nut: Once the bolt is in place, loosely put on the nut. This will allow for some movement as you continue to secure the rest of the seal.

Repeat the Process

Continue this process, moving around the drum and repeating the steps until all the bolts are securely in place. Remember to keep the nuts loose until you have completed the entire circuit, as this will allow for any necessary adjustments.

By following these steps, you can successfully fit the rubber seal gasket to your cement mixer.
