Side burner pipe connections for gas BBQ

There are often concerns as it is not 100% clear in the instructions how to attach the side burner; the pipe to connect the side burner and the gas bottle is secured under the BBQ for transit purposes

the cable tie needs to be cut and then the pipe can be folded out.

The side burner connection is not sealed, the pipe from the gas flow should be just be placed loosely in the pipe of the side burner and works on the same principle of a Bunsen burner with the gas flowing through drawing in air.

Please see a photo of the fitting below which will explain clearer. The pipe may seem too long,  can be looped or bent into shape if required to remove any excess length.
