PROBLEM

SOLUTION

ABNORMAL OPENING OF THE LID

  • Check the batteries and ensure they have been installed correctly according to the correct polarity.
  • Clean the Sensor using a clean dry cloth.

ABNORMAL CLOSING OF THE LID

  • Check the Sensor and hinges for debris/dirt and clean as necessary.
  • Check for blockages and remove if necessary.
  • If the lid has come into contact with any liquid, leave in a well-ventilated area to dry

LID OPENS AND CLOSES SLOWLY

  • Batteries are low.
  • We advise using high-quality batteries. Do not to combine old batteries with new ones.
  • Check that the batteries have been installed correctly and are secured.

SENSOR DOES NOT RESPOND

  • Ensure that the protective film has been removed from the sensor
  • Ensure that the Sensor Bin is turned on using the ON/OFF Switch.
  • Replace the batteries.
  • Use slow, deliberate hand movements directly over the sensor to open and close.
  • Clean the Sensor using a clean, dry cloth

Electronic Memory Needs Resetting

If the above has not resolved the issue we would advise the Electronic Memory Needs Resetting, the relatively small memory chip can get overloaded or confused.

Remove the batteries and leave the bin lid in a dry place for up to 24-hours. This should reset the entire system, bringing the memory and the sensor to their original factory settings. After 24-hours, insert high-quality batteries and turn on the bin. Doing these steps should have resolved any issues with the battery or chip memory.
